About
There's a lot of software aimed at people who do what I do, but often understanding what it actually does requires combing through pages of website, or even worse: a 1-hour long product demo where you realise 5 minutes in that it isn't for you. This is my attempt to shortcut that process with honest talk between myself and real financial planners.
Most of us live inside this stuff: Cashflow Modelling tools, CRMs, platforms, risk profiling questionnaires, client portals, the lot. But when you want a straight answer on whether something is any good, it's oddly hard to find one that isn't coming from a vendor, or from someone who's never had to use the thing with a real client sitting in front of them.
So each episode I either walk you through something I use myself, or I sit down with another planner and ask them what they rate and why. The tone is positive but honest. I share things I think are genuinely useful, caveats and all, because that's the conversation I'd want to have with a colleague.

I'm the person who tries every new tool, usually before anyone asks me to, and then won't shut up about the two or three that turn out to be brilliant. Somewhere in all that fiddling I got properly interested in how the right bit of kit quietly makes this job better, for me and for the people I look after.
I'm a financial planner, not a developer or a reviewer. I run my own Financial Planning business for a living and like finding things that make my business run smoother and more efficiently. This show is me sharing what I've found, and learning how everyone else does it too.
